General Information
PeaceweeeKs are scheduled throughout the year and are usually 10 days in duration. The intention is to encourage and support the organization and promotion of Peace, Civility, Wellbeing and Sustainable Living events throughout the year.

PeaceweeeKs throughout the Year
Participation Options
How to participate in a PeaceweeeK is up to you. There are many options. The following are ideas and suggestions for this 10 period of potential personal and global transformation:
Monday-Friday Evenings
Participate with friends and/or relatives or initiate public forums where various points of view can be discussed with a sense of safety, civility and harmony. A few selected dialogue themes might include:
o The environment and living lightly on the Earth
o Government spending and deficits
o The Middle East
o Gender Dialogue
o Relationships, Commitment and Marriage
o Dialogue: Individual Ethic versus Social Ethic
o Charged issues related to your local community
Saturday
o Early Morning: Some quiet time which might include a walk in nature. Hold the vision of peace as you commune with the nature world.
o During the Day: Do service: it could be linked to sustainable living; community project and/or helping those in need.
o Evening Plans: Enjoy and encourage local peace oriented restaurants, lounges, music, theaters and green oriented businesses to have special promotions focusing of a peaceful planet.
Sunday
o Morning; Option I: Attend religious or spiritual services. Possibly one of your choice, or go to a service you would generally not attend; or possibly go to the religious or spiritual practice what was important to you in your childhood. Hold the vision of peace throughout the morning.
o Morning; Option II Organize a spiritual or religious service focusing on a Peaceful Planet.
o Mid Day, Option I: Some quiet time this might include a walk in nature. Hold the vision of peace as you commune with the nature world.
o Evening; Option I: A relaxing evening with a few friends and/or relatives and hold a vision of a peaceful planet Earth.
o Afternoon and Evening; Option II: Attend a public Peace Day celebration in a park or outdoor area. If there is no public celebrations organize a small one, or link with other folks and organize a larger celebration.
Peaceful Gathering of Hands: Participation Options
A: General Thoughts and Ideas: Peaceful Gathering of Hands Events
Range of events option might include: 5 folks around a dinner table or 5000 in a public space. The key components to a gathering are:
o A peaceful gathering of hands in a circle. Thumbs pointing to the left encourage the flow of energy around the circle.
o Celebrated our human beingness and the possibility that this moment is enough; with no need to create, do, perform or look good
o Celebration of our connection and gratitude to meet in an atmosphere of peace. o Celebrate our diversity and the connection of all that exist.
B: Ideas: Private Gatherings: Peaceful Gathering of Hands
o Any time two or more persons meet
o Prelude to sharing food and conversation
o Family gatherings
o Private social gatherings
o Workshops, seminars, conferences and discussion and dialogue groups
C: Ideas: Public Peaceful Gathering of Hands Events
C1: On the Hour the Peaceful Gathering of Hands circle might includes the following:
o The sound of a call to Gather: possibly trumpets
o Processions to the circle: could come from up to 6 directions: a convergence
o Inclusion of the key components: Connect - Center - Ground - Gratitude - Harmonize differences - Celebrate our Beingness
C2: The flow of the Gathering of Hands circle might be expanded to include a celebration of the diversity of the human experience. Options might include:
o Nations of the Earth
o Religions of the Earth
o Colors
o The zodiac
o Neighborhoods
o Oceans
o Other ideas: dance, hugs, toning, prayer, spiral movement, music jam celebration
C3: Canopy tents might provide a sense of a Peaceful Gathering of Hands village with opportunity for the following activities:
o Discussion and dialogue tents
o Movement and wellness activities
o Environment information and dialogue
o Intuitive spiritual services and dialogue
o Sharing ideas circle
o Gift circle
o Recycled activities
o Kid zone
o Food area: encourage folks to bring food and food utensils; what we carry in, we carry out.
o Community involvement activities
o Roving musicians, storytelling, clowns and magicians moving freely throughout the village
o Future planning and visioning
o Entertainment tent
o Specific tent or areas for peace orient and eco-friendly organization. Possible include an identify flag or banner.
C4: Administrative and Processional Ideas
o A welcoming tent provides the opportunity for donations, sponsorships and/or exhibiting space.
o A convergent walk to the celebration location. Possibly the walkers can go through a gate or arch as they enter the celebration area. This can be a transformational experience.
